Theft related Arrest

(Etowah County) Two individuals have been arrested for Theft related charges, according to Sheriff Jonathon Horton.

Gary Michael Pointer (42) of Gadsden has been arrested and charged with Burglary 3rd, Theft of Property  (Firearms), Criminal Mischief, and Obstructing Government Operations.

Jennifer Lynn Pointer (38) of Gadsden has been arrested and charged with Burglary 3rd, Theft of Property (Firearms).

Around September 2, 2022 a burglary occurred on Tarpley Dr. East in the North Gadsden area of Etowah County. Firearms, collectables, jewelry were taken. During the investigation the individuals charged became suspects in the case. A search warrant was obtained and executed at a home in the Coates Bend Community and stolen items were recovered along with illegal narcotics.

Gary Michael Pointer is currently being held in the Etowah County Detention center on $11,000 in bonds and Jennifer Lynn Pointer $7,500 in bonds.
