Natalie Barton, Director of Communications, joined the Etowah County Sheriff's Office in January 2009. Her prior employment includes the Gadsden-Etowah County Emergency Management Agency and working for more than four years in television broadcasting.
She is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Jacksonville State University, Jacksonville, Alabama, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication. Mrs. Barton also received an Associate in Science degree in Speech Communications from Gadsden State Community College, Gadsden, Alabama.
Mrs. Barton has furthered her career in the communications field by completing FEMA's Basic Public Information Officer and Advanced Public Information Officer courses and Argonne National Laboratory's Spokesperson Training for Public Information/Public Affairs Officers.
She is a member of the American Correctional Association and the National Sheriff's Association.
