Bad Check Warrant Arrests
(Etowah County, Alabama) Sixteen individuals were arrested on forty-seven bad check warrants in Etowah County yesterday, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
The Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Gadsden Police Department’s Special Project Team, worked together to reduce the number of bad check warrants in the county.
“Bad check warrants, which are misdemeanor, have decreased as checks are not used as much as they once were.” Sheriff Entrekin said. “However, hundreds of unresolved bad check warrants exist in Etowah County and need to be taken care of immediately.”
Individuals who are aware of a bad check warrant against them are encouraged to turn themselves in at the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office.
District Attorney Jody Willoughby added, “I want to thank all of the agencies involved for their hard work yesterday. Their efforts will continue to seek out those who have warrants against them for arrest and prosecution.”
