Chemical Endangerment Arrest
(Etowah County, Alabama) A Marshal County woman has been arrested in Etowah County and charged with chemical endangerment of a child, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“Miranda Dawn Wheeler, 29, of Boaz, was arrested and is charged with one count of chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed,” states Investigator Bobby Bryant. The charge is a felony.
Wheeler tested positive for amphetamine, benzodiazepines and methadone. The baby, who was born in Etowah County in late March, also tested positive for the same drugs.
Wheeler was detained in the Etowah County Detention Center and later released on a $25,000 surety bond.
