(Etowah County, Alabama) An Attalla man has been arrested for the theft of a gun, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“Jame Adam Meeks, 27, of Attalla, is charged with one count of second degree theft of property, which is a felony,” says Captain Shane Hartley. Bond was set at $5,000.
Meeks allegedly stole a Savage 308 rifle from a residence on Maple Drive, Attalla. During the investigation, Captain Hartley discovered the weapon had been sold at a Gadsden pawn shop.
Meeks admitted to investigators he stole the weapon and pawned it to pay court fines in St. Clair County. He is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center.
